Outcomes of clinical trials (25) have been published on the topic: “ozone therapy and treatment of the COVID-19 patients”, 4 in prevention of Covid-19, 4 in treatment of the sequelae of Covid-19 and 1 meta-analysis; for a total of 34 articles with results, of which 16 (47%) are indexed in MedLine (PubMed).
The main results of the studies indicate that ozone decreases the inflammation indices and the time of assisted breathing, improves oxygen saturation and makes PCR negative in shorter periods. Increases oxygen saturation and could reduce mortality.
The total number of patients treated in the different clinical trials, including prevention studies (384 subjects), post-COVID (201 patients) and active COVID-19 (395 patients) has been 980.
The application routes used have been: major autohemotherapy, ozonated saline solution and rectal insufflation.
